I have a Wellness Plan through my vet clinic, why should I consider Pet Insurance?

Pet Insurance is supplemental protection that covers what your vet’s Wellness Plan might not. From emergency vet visits to surgeries, coverage for your furry friend keeps them protected amidst the unexpected.

Is this a one-time fee? Or a monthly payment?

Coverage is paid monthly. The Wellness Only Plan requires a 12-month contract, but payments are still made on a monthly basis.

How does it work?

Pet Insurance reimburses you directly for medical expenses that you paid out-of-pocket. In order to receive a reimbursement, you must first file a claim directly through the plans insurer you selected. More information on your policy and claims information is available via an email sent immediately after purchase or on the plans insurers website.

Which do I need to file a claim?

To file a claim, you’ll need to confirm your identity and provide basic information about the vet visit in addition to medical receipts and documents. If you have any questions, contact our support team at support@vicoverage.com.

Where can I find my policy ID?

All policy information including coverage details and policy ID/certificate can be found in the confirmation email received directly from the insurance provider immediately after first purchasing coverage. If you’re unable to find the information you’re looking for, please contact your plans insurance provider directly.

How long do I have to file a claim?

You must begin the claims process within 180 days of treatment. If you don’t have medical receipts or other documentation yet, you can begin the claims process by filling out the claims form in the Customer Portal without uploading documents and upload your documents once you receive them.

How are claims handled and when will I receive an answer?

Claims are promptly acknowledged and assigned to a claims examiner. The actual time to resolve a claim depends upon its complexity and the level of documentation required. Any questions about your policy, coverage, or a submitted claim can be directed to your plans insurance providers customer support team.

Can I cancel my policy?

If you are not satisfied with the product for any reason, you have the option to cancel your policy within ten (10) days of the initial purchase date – as long as you have not filed a claim. To cancel your policy, please contact us at support@vicoverage.com.
